Can you use the medium-thickness combo mat if you're practicing on a hard or tile floor? Or is the 5.5 thickness necessary in those situations?
The choice of mat thickness is primarily based on personal preference rather than the type of floor you'll be practicing on. However, we recommend using the 5.5mm mat if you have sensitive knees, as it offers additional cushioning and support.
Is it safe to use a water and essential oil spray on the mat between washes, or will it cause damage? Do you sell a spray specifically for cleaning the mat?
Using water and essential oil sprays on our mats is not recommended, as they may result in staining or damage. For cleaning, we suggest using water and mild soap, as this is the most effective method. Our Combo Mats can also be safely washed in a washing machine. We do not offer a mat cleanser spray as we believe it is more environmentally friendly for you mix your own soap and water solution instead of us manufacturing one and shipping it to you.
If I'm 4'9", what size mat would be an ideal choice?
The choice of mat size depends on personal preference and comfort during yoga practice. The standard length of a yoga mat is 68 to 72 inches (173 to 183 cm). All of our yoga mats, except our Curve Mat which is designed for taller yogis, would be an ideal choice for you.
If there are any specific concerns, such as sensitive knees or a preference for more cushioning, we suggest considering the 5.5mm combo yoga mat. This thickness provides extra support and comfort, making it beneficial for individuals with knee issues or those who prefer a softer surface.
Alternatively, if you prefer a closer connection to the ground and a firmer surface, we recommend looking into our 3.5mm Combo Yoga Mat. This thinner option offers a more grounded experience, enhancing stability and balance during practice. Ultimately, the decision between these thickness options should be based on personal comfort and preferences. We encourage our customers to consider your unique needs and select the mat that best aligns with your yoga practice goals.
Do you provide the option to customize a mat with our own logo design?
Presently, we only offer the option to customize our mats for wholesale orders. This service is not available for individual orders. For more details on wholesale opportunities and customizing mats, please visit our website at https://www.yogadesignlab.com/pages/retailers-wholesale.
I'm experiencing slipping on the microfiber surface of my Combo Yoga Mat, which limits its versatility. Is there a solution to this issue?
Our Combo Yoga Mats were designed as the perfect mat for hot yoga or for yogis that sweat while doing yoga. When dry, the microfiber service can feel slippery. To enhance the grip of the mat, we recommend spraying a fine mist of water on the microfiber surface before your practice which can significantly improve traction and enhance your satisfaction with the mat's performance.
Do your mats contain latex? I have a latex allergy.
Our mats are made from biodegradable natural tree rubber, which is a source of latex. While our mats are not specifically made from latex, it is important to note that latex can be a by-product of rubber. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that our mats are completely free of latex. Although the microfiber layer on the top of the mat is latex-free, we cannot guarantee that it will prevent a reaction if you have a high sensitivity to latex.
What is the recommended method for laundering the combo mats?
We recommend using a gentle, non-abrasive soap or detergent to hand wash your mat. Some good options include mild dish soap, a gentle laundry detergent, or a specially formulated yoga mat cleaner. If possible, we highly recommend a biodegradable soap, as this is quite gentle on your mat.
To clean your mat:
- Simply mix a small amount of soap or detergent with water in a bowl or sink. You can start with one part soap to 10 parts water.
- Use a clean sponge or cloth to gently scrub the surface of the mat, paying extra attention to any areas that may be particularly dirty or stained.
- Avoid excessive scrubbing or rubbing, as it may damage the mat's texture or integrity.
- Rinse the mat thoroughly with clean water and hang it up to air dry.
Please note that it's important to avoid using harsh or abrasive chemicals as this can damage the material and affect its performance over time. The Combo Mat can be cleaned in the washing machine that has no central agitator on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent; however, we still recommend handwashing instead as the best practice.
I'm interested in a new hot yoga mat but am concerned about the potential odor and bacteria build-up due to heavy sweating. How do you keep this mat clean and bacteria-free, and how does it hold up over time?
- Our yoga mats are specifically designed to address these concerns. They are made from high-quality, non-toxic materials that resist odors and bacteria build-up, ensuring long-lasting freshness with proper care.
- To maintain cleanliness, we recommend wiping the mat down with a damp cloth to remove sweat and dirt after each use. For a more thorough cleaning, you can use a solution of mild soap and water, followed by a thorough rinse with water.
- To prevent bacteria and odors, it's important to let your mat air dry completely before rolling it up for storage.
- With proper care and maintenance, our mats are designed to hold up well over time. They are durable and made to withstand the demands of hot yoga sessions.
